The State Government has initiated steps for the third phase development of Technopark and registration of 100 acres of land acquired for it, Chief Minister Achuthanandan said.
In a written reply to a question in the Assembly, he said creation of infrastructure for companies, construction of a ring road within the park campus and expansion of the club there with more rooms, a conference hall and dining facilities were to be taken up in the third phase.
Achuthanandan said construction of Infosys and UST G7lobal campuses, buildings for NeST, Tata Elxsi (Phase 2), Case Consult and TCS Development Centre, and a 4.72-lakh sq.ft 15-floor information technology (IT) complex of the Leela Group were included in the expansion programme.
He said 18,000 people worked in various companies at the park. A sum of Rs 310 crore had been spent so far on construction there.
To another question, he said the Government had taken steps to set up the Technocity in Thiruvananthapuram, the Cyber Park in Kozhikode, and IT parks in Kollam, Alappuzha, Thrissur, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
