Nlyte aims to help organisations achieve a complete view of their data centres, allowing them to intelligently manage power consumption, reduce green house emissions and increase the lifetime of assets, among other benefits.
According to the deal, APW President Systems will be solely responsible for engaging new customers in India and Middle East, managing local implementation and providing ongoing support.
Explaining the rationale behind the launch in India, Michael Evans, chief executive officer, Global DataCenter, said, “issues associated with poor supplies and the continued hot climate, organisations in India are in the need of solutions which will allow them to manage their data centre environments and control power and cooling requirements. Using nlyte will help sort out these challenges.”
The product is designed to help data centre managers make the most of their IT investments. The product has been planned by some IT professionals at the global level who were in charge of data centres during their earlier professions and also faced practical problems pertaining to data centres.
"While minimising complexity and costs, nlyte allows companies to model and mange their hardware, capacity, power, cooling, networking and space; reduce redundancy, enhance optimisation of IT assets and actively forecast and plan the development of their assets," said Satnam Singh, alliance manager, Global DataCenter.
However, both the companies declined to reveal the financial nature of the partnership.
"At the current level, we would not like to disclose any transaction details,” said Pramod Agashe, chief operating officer, APW President Systems.
APW President Systems officials seem to have got a reason to weave a bright future of their business vertical.
Speaking on the sidelines of the summit, Agashe said, “we are going to promote this product aggressively as we believe, this one is the first of its kind in India. Adding big clients in our clients’ kitty will have impact on our balance sheet”.
According to Agashe, who is bullish on IT sector with a long term view, they are getting some big clients who have showed interest in ‘nlyte’. Some of these are NCR, Nokia, Reliance Communications, Erricson.
Interestingly, sources confirmed, APW President Systems is looking for technology partner to replace APW, a company which holds 30 per cent stake in the company. Original promoters hold 40 per cent and the rest 30 per cent is held by the public.
