Technology company UST Global has inked a five-year contract with Ohio-based Dana Holding Corporation to provide e-business application development and support services leveraging a global delivery model on its .NET and Java-based platforms.
Dana Holding Corp is a major player in the supply of axles, drive-shafts, as well as structural, sealing, and thermal-management products, has a customer base that includes almost all major vehicle manufacturers.
A UST Global official told Business Standard that the company's solution is expected to help drive increased operational efficiencies and lower total cost of ownership for Dana's enterprise-wide, e-business applications.
Mike Zerkel, general manager, North America, UST Global, said Dana Holding Corp was looking for a company that would work collaboratively with its IT department and demonstrate a mutual commitment to long-term success.
As for Dana Holding, the company is said to have been seeking to move to a global sourcing and delivery model in order to lower its operating costs, while also providing shorter time-to-market for its e-business applications.
According to Bill Umberger, director (IT corporate services) for Dana Holding Corporation, "the company needed a stable resource support structure to provide a global delivery framework that could quickly ramp up, when needed, to handle emerging e-business development requirements."
