The Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd (HARTRON) plans to set up Information Technology and Telecommunication (ITT) complexes having State-of-the-art facilities on Design Finance Build Operate and Transfer (DFBOT) model in Gurgaon at a cost of about Rs 300 crore.
Disclosing this here on Sunday, a spokesman of HARTRON said that these ITT complexes would be set up over an area of nine acres with a covered area of about seven lakh sq feet. These would further boost setting up of IT units and IT-enabled services (IT/ITES) in the State.
The Central Government has approved setting up of a State Data Centre in Haryana at a cost of Rs 50.68 crore. While the Department of Information Technology of the Central Government would provide Rs13.50 crore, the balance Rs 37.18 crore would be met through Additional Central Assistance (ACA) for National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) provisions.
He said that Haryana had emerged as the most preferred IT and global source destination in northern India. The State has the best infrastructure for IT industry in Gurgaon, which has made a mark on the world map, and is ranked among the best software export locations in India. HARTRON has been facilitating the State Government in formulation as well as implementation of various e-governance schemes for the percolation of IT down to the masses.
