SEAGATE’S 1.5TB DRIVE IS FIRST IN THE WORLD

Seagate, the hard disk manufacturing company, on Monday unveiled the industry's first 1.5-terabyte desktop and half-terabyte notebook hard drives to meet explosive worldwide demand for digital-content storage in home and business environments.

The debut of the Barracuda 7200.11 a 1.5 TB hard drive, the 11th generation of Seagate's flagship drive for desktop PCs, marks the single largest capacity hard drive jump in the more than half-century history of hard drives - a half-terabyte increase from the previous highest capacity of one TB, said the company in a release.

V-Guard declares 25 percent dividend

Mumbai, Agencies: VGuard Industries, an electronic and electrical equipment manufacturer, announced here on Monday 25 percent dividend for the year 2007-08. The dividend is on enhanced capital base of Rs 29.854 crore and will result in a payout of Rs 7.46 crore. This is in addition to the interim dividend of 40 percent paid by the company during the month of August 2007. The company posted Rs 37.42 crore profit after tax for the year ended March 31, 2008 and its income from operations was Rs 278.11 crore.
