SONY COMPUTER ENTERTAINMENT EYES 300% SALES GROWTH

New Delhi, November 23, 2008
The Economic Times (Delhi edition)
Sony Computer Entertainment is looking at a 300% growth in sale of consoles this year over the previous year. The company is also planning to launch Playstation-3 with bigger storage space of 80 GB hard disk drive next month in India. Currently, PS3 with up to 40 GB hard disk is available in the domestic market. “The growth in sales would be low this year compared because of sharp appreciation in dollar against the rupee. We may even increase prices of some gaming devices in the near future,” said Sony Computer Entertainment country manager Atindriya Bose at the launch of Playstation Portable (PSP) on Saturday. The new PSP-3000 has been priced at Rs 9,490.
