Karnataka Government would shortly set up software technology parks and incubation centres with better connectivity and IT infrastructure in the district headquarters towns of Gulbarga, Belgaum and Shimoga, according to State IT Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu.
"It is the Government's vision to see that the cities of the state such as Mysore, Mangalore, Hubli-Dharwad, Gulbarga, Belgaum and Shimoga also become IT destinations," Naidu said at the STPI-Karnataka State IT Exports awards function at the ICT event BangaloreIT.biz here last night.
The state government and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) have already put in place the required IT infrastructure in Mysore, Mangalore and Hubli-Dharwad, he said.
Also, the state government had set apart Rs 1,800 crore for development of Bangalore city. This fund would be spent over a period of three years, he added.
"The business establishments and the general public in Bangalore will find a visible change in the infrastructure in the next couple of years", he said adding that the elevated expressway leading to the Electronics City would also be completed.
