NEW IBM PRODUCT AT RS10-15 LAKH

IBM Smart Business, a ready-to-use IT computing solution targeted at small and medium entrepreneurs, will cost between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

Software giant IBM, which launched the product on Tuesday, said it would available in the market from November 21. A pan-India launch is slated in January 2009. “This is the first time IBM is launching its product first in India to fuel the growth of more than 35 million small and medium businesses,” Mukul Mathur, director, systems and technology, India and South Asia Region, said. It’s a simple way to effectively manage the small and medium enterprises’ enterprising resource management.

Mathur said this simple technology delivered a pre-integrated solution to run a business without manuals, giving access to a web-based marketplace to acquire new applications, and web-delivered services such as managed security, hosted backup and recovery.

IBM Smart Business comprises of smart market, smart cube and smart desk.

Smart market is a web-enabled, one-stop small and medium businesses marketplace clients can use to browse, rate and buy solutions or collaborate with other clients.
