Bangalore
The Economic Times (Delhi edition)

IBM, the world’s biggest software services company, plans to leverage its innovative solutions for creating newer business opportunities in India’s $5.6-billion market for software services. IBM India MD Shanker Annaswamy said one of the key strategic components would be to look at transformational opportunities across sectors and companies.

One of the key components of IBM’s strategy in driving this innovation would be through use of the concept of service-oriented architecture (SOA). “We are using the innovative approach to become more productive,” Annaswamy said. Earlier, the company leveraged its innovative solutions such as SOA to evolve its outsourcing relationship with Bharti Airtel into one of the biggest contracts in India, valued at over $1.5 billion.
