The Netherlands-based Cordys has opened its R&D centre in Coimbatore. Jan Baan, Founder and CEO of Cordys, was in the city to inaugurate the new centre.

He later told reporters that the company proposed to host a university programme for engineering and management colleges on its new initiative ‘The Process Factory’, which is an on-demand do-it-yourself application development programme.

“This would give students hands-on experience with collaborative technologies used for developing business Mashup application,” he said and invited students to access the process factory and build innovative and easy-to-use business Mashup applications with commercial potential.

Cordys is planning to announce a MashApps competition next month and also announce its tie-ups with institutions for hosting the university programme.
