ASSAM RECEIVES INVESTMENT PROPOSALS WORTH RS 33,068 CRORE

The Assam government has received investment proposals from various groups worth Rs 33,068 crore in the last two years.

Announcing this at a Press conference here today, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the state is gradually becoming a favourable investment spot and a huge amount of investment proposals are arriving.

The biggest investment of Rs 26,000 crore will be made by a paper mill which will soon be set up at Matia in Goalpara district where land has already been procured, he said.

The north eastern states have got 247 investment proposals including those from foreign companies out of which Assam's share was 80, he said.

During the summit, the Chief Minister said, as many as 27 foreign companies evinced interest to invest in the state in power, road and IT sectors.
