Three-dimensional design software and product lifecycle management solutions provider Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks on Wednesday unveiled the latest version of its 3D CAD software which it said had a documented speed increase of up to 65 percent over the previous version, called SolidWorks 2008. “SolidWorks 2009 improves the quality of designs. It allows customers to create their designs right for the first time. Customers can now focus on design and not CAD,” a statement quoted VP (Asia Pacific Operations) Ved Narayan as saying. The new version comes with SpeedPak which enables users to build and work with massive assemblies and drawings with high performance and memory efficiency, the statement said.
