LENOVO LAUNCHES THINKSERVERS FOR SMALL FIRMS

Lenovo on Wednesday announced the expansion of its product portfolio with the launch of ThinkServers targeted primarily at small and medium businesses, besides mid-market companies, branch offices and retail stores in India.

“Specifically geared to address the needs of SMB and mid-market firms, Lenovo ThinkServers coupled with 90-day trial package of ThinkPlus Priority Support and ThinkServer management tools, offer customers reliability and design to simplify server deployment and management,” Lenovo APAC Enterprise Systems Director Chris Kelly said.

The ThinkServer marks the latest addition to Lenovo’s Think range enterprise computing solutions that includes the ThinkPad notebook PCs, ThinkCentre desktop PCs and ThinkStation high-end workstation PCs.

A significant highlight of this product offering is the introduction of ThinkServer management tools software designed to make installation, update and management simple and effective for SMBs.

ThinkServer management tools comprise ThinkServer EasyStartup, ThinkServer EasyUpdate and ThinkServer EasyManage.

Amar Babu, managing director, Lenovo India, described the launch as a “milestone for India.” This is Lenovo’s fourth product range offering in over three years that the firm has been in India, he said.

The ThinkServer range includes three tower servers, providing an offering to fit varying needs of businesses with an employee count within 500.ThinkServer products start at Rs 45,000.
