RS 250 CRORE SOUGHT FOR COMPUTER LITERACY

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is determined to make all schools across the State computer literate under the third phase of Information Computer Technology (ICT).

Decisions on improving computer education were made in a general meeting convened by the DPI with 33 district officials on Tuesday.

The DPI has submitted a proposal to the State government to grant Rs 250 crore for total computer literacy at all schools across the State. Under the Mahithi Sindhu Programme as many as 1,090 schools and in ICT phase I programme 480 schools have been covered.
