JDA TO BUY I2 TECHNOLOGIES FOR $346 MILLION

US-based supply chain management software firm JDA Software announced on Monday acquisition of i2 Technologies, a rival firm founded by two persons of Indian origins nearly 20 years ago, in a cash deal valued at about $346 million.

Under the deal, JDA will pay $14.86 per share for i2, whose share price have gained nearly 40 percent in past four months. The offer price represents a premium of nearly five percent over i2's last close. i2 was founded in 1988 by Sanjiv Sidhu and Ken Sharma, pioneers of the supply chain management software industry.
