Design tech to market softinway software

Bangalore
The Hindu
The Pune headquartered engineering design company Design Tech Systems has become sole distributors for the turbine design software of SoftInWay of the U.S.

Ronnie Lindgren, International Sales Manager of the American company, told reporters here on Tuesday that the company’s proprietary software, AxSTREAM, reduced turbine design or redesign time from weeks to hours in most cases. “Our users are power utilities and aviation companies, and some automobile manufacturers too. The power generators concerned with getting more power output with lesser steam or gas and the airlines now look for better fuel efficiency. We also design turbochargers now used in automobiles, including many with diesel engines”.

Design Tech Managing Director Vikas Khanvelkar said, “High energy costs are a concern to many sectors of industry and especially those using turbines. We are also targeting turbo machinery manufacturers who will now have accesss to the latest and evolving designs of international standards”.

SofInWay, a closely held firm, is among the few companies in the Boston area focussed on software for turbine design.
