IT PARKS IN EVERY DISTRICT: CM

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has assured of taking necessary initiatives for the establishment of Information Technology parks in every district.

The CM laid foundation stone for the construction of IT Park near here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said Government will also promote special economic zones in a big way to generate employment for the youths.

Expressing concern about the retrenchment in USA and China due to global economic crises, he said the impact of recession was minimum on India which is a self-sustained economy with high level of domestic consumption and demand. However, Government will take initiatives to shield the State from the impact of recession, he said.

Minister for IT Katta Subrahmanya Naidu said that IT exports from the State stands at Rs 55,000 crore at present. Karnataka has emerged as a leading player in IT sector which has provided employment to over five lakh professionals. The State will consolidate its position by creating conducive atmosphere for the growth of IT companies in tier-two cities. He assured of all possible support to IT-BPO companies which come forward to invest in tier-two cities and rural areas.
