The aviation industry, presently facing rough weather on account of high aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices, is expected to drag down the aggregate profit after tax growth of the non-financial services segment, a report has said.

"While the software and telecom industries are expected to post a strong sales growth and a modest PAT growth, the aviation industry is expected to drag down the aggregate PAT growth," Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) said in its recently released report.

The non-financial services sector largely comprises trading, telecom, software, transport, storage and distribution, hotel and media segments.

"The non-financial services sector is expected to witness a strong 25.6 percent sales growth but a flat 0.8 percent PAT growth during the September quarter," it said.

The software industry, which is expected to contribute almost half of the profits of the entire sector, is likely to report a strong 27 percent sales growth and a modest 10.4 percent PAT growth during the same quarter, the report said.

"This along with strong performance of the telecom industry, which is expected to post a 25.1 percent sales growth and 7.8 percent PAT growth, is likely to aid the aggregate growth," the report said.
