Wipro-NewLogic has announced that its Bluetooth 2.1+Enhanced Data Rate RF IP (BOOST RF) and IEEE 802.11a/b/g WLAN RF IP (WiLD90 RF) are silicon proven in TSMC 90nm. When combined with the BOOST Core Bluetooth 2.1+EDR baseband, it provides a comprehensive and highly flexible solution for Bluetooth centric application chips such as headset, and for integration into wireless connectivity combos and application processors, the company claimed. WiLD90 RF is the 2nd generation of 802.11a/b/g radio IP that Wipro-NewLogic is offering. It features all the functions for a dual-band, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio. The number of external components is reduced by integrating the power amplifiers as well as the RX/TX switch. Combined with the Wi-Fi certified WiLD MAC and Modem, it provides a complete wireless LAN solution for integration into a SoC. The WiLD90 RF is designed with an upgrade path to an 802.11n radio in mind. For example, it already offers an improved receive and transmit performance that is aligned with the specification of the IEEE802.11n standard.
