IT consulting and e-business company Thirdware Solution is eyeing the spurt in off-shore manufacturing processes by European and North American businesses and believes this will help it attain a 30 percent year-on-year growth. The Rs 113 crore Mumbai-based company, whose offshore delivery centre started operations in China last week, will be soon be having its first research and development (R&D) centre at DLF IT city in Chennai.

“A large number of multinational companies from the US and Europe are off-shoring their manufacturing operations to the Asia-Pacific and China. We are expecting the Asia Pacific markets which currently form 20 percent of our portfolio to grow significantly, even as the US and European markets slow down,” said Pradeep Erinjery, director, Thirdware.

The company, which currently has delivery centres at Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai has invested Rs 9 crore for the Chennai R&D centre. “This centre will focus on building tools and frameworks to do business faster. This business technology will help us improve cost-effectiveness for our clientele,” he added. Thirdware currently has 89 customers, mostly in the automobile and retail segment.
