CHINA KEEN ON BENGAL IT & ITES SERVICES

China is interested in the IT and ITeS related education and services know-how of West Bengal whereas the latter in investing in the realty sector in China, said mayor Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharyya.

"We need to develop the city and suburbs taking lessons from Beijing on urban administration," he said at a press conference organised by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce (BCC). Recently a business delegation of BCC along with the mayor went to some provinces of China as a goodwill mission to take trade and cultural ties further. "Urban forestry and horticulture is well planned in Beijing and we need to do the same in Kolkata," the mayor told reporters.

As an outcome of the visit, the chamber has urged the Chinese government to share the solar energy technology of the Suntech Power company in China to set up a solar energy plant in West Bengal , said Santosh Rungta, chairman of the Rungta Group and one of the members of the delegation that visited China .

Bhattacharyya mentioned about a plan of recreating the Park Circus Maidan as a model park based on the Chinese model but refused to give details.
