INFOGAIN EYES WEST ASIAN RETAIL

Technology solution provider, Infogain Corporation, is in talks with a Dubai-based product development company for a joint venture to offer retail solutions in the West Asia.

Headquartered in California, Infogain offers integrate business solutions and services across manufacturing and retail industry. The company has entered in to a partnership with Manthan Systems, offering complete retail business intelligence solutions.

Eddie Chandhok, president Infogain India said that the company is eyeing two main geographies to expand their retail solution offerings. He said that India and West Asia are the major areas of business opportunities for Infogain.

“With the recent developments in the retail vertical, we see a major boost to our business from retail. We are in advance stage of discussion with a product development company in Dubai and will be announcing a joint venture before the end of this quarter,” Chandhok said. However, he refused to reveal the size and the details of the deal.

“Huge amount of business activity is happening in Middle-East. We have closed a couple of deals to offer our retail solutions in ME,” Chandhok said.

The company is betting high on the contribution from the retail vertical. He said that at present retail contributes around 10 percent to the total revenues of the company.

“We are targeting to triple our retail revenues in the next couple of years. The growth in this sector is promising with organised retail making entry in to smaller towns. We are also looking at partnerships with Indian companies to boost out product offerings,” he added.

The company is targeting revenues of $100 million by 2010. Chandhok said that the company recorded revenue of $50 million in the last fiscal. He said that Infogain’s end-to-end retail solution includes store solution, merchandising solution and Oracle financial solution. He said that Oracle suite of solutions contribute a major part to entire revenues of the company.
