Suntec adds new vertical, enters ports domain

Thiruvananthapuram
The Economic Times
SunTec Business Solutions based here, a global major in the transaction billing management solutions (TBMS) space, has added another vertical to its operations by entering the ports solutions domain.

SunTec CEO K Nanda Kumar said that the company’s solution centralised the pricing and billing operations for vessels as well as for cargo operations, helping port operators to produce a single, personalised bill for customers and effectively manage contracts.

“There has been a latent demand from the ports sector, and our presence in verticals like telecom and banking offering billing and transaction solutions to millions of customers equip us with the competence to cater to a sector like port operations where a multitude of transactions occur across different sections of stakeholders”, Nanda Kumar said.

He said the company’s discussions with a port in the Middle East for adoption of its port operations solutions were at an advanced stage, and that the company was also talking to different ports in the US and Europe.

“International port operations are on a massive scale and sometimes it is not known where exactly the operation is bleeding. In the past, an entity could operate without updated knowledge on such losses for a couple of years, but in today’s real-time scenario no business can have the luxury of bleeding without knowing about it”, Kumar said.

SunTec, which has major international clients such as Lloyds Bank, HSBC and ING as its clients in the banking space, is offering real-time and batch mode invoicing, customer management, payments and credit control, among other solutions in the ports domain.
